🎬 Reel Review: M3GAN 2.0

M3GAN 2.0 is bigger, funnier, and out for blood. The sequel ditches slow-burn horror for sci-fi spectacle—and honestly, it’s a blast if you’re here for mayhem over menace.
This time, M3GAN is back in an upgraded form, sharper and more savage. She’s not the only machine in town—enter Amelia, a rival AI. It’s doll vs. drone, and the movie leans into that wild premise with full force. Cady (Violet McGraw) and Gemma (Allison Williams) return, but the emotional core takes a backseat to kinetic pacing and tech-heavy chaos.
Director Gerard Johnstone knows what kind of movie he’s making. The scares are light, but the laughs land—especially with M3GAN’s now-iconic deadpan delivery and dance-like destruction. It’s campy, clever, and just self-aware enough to maintain a consistent tone. Some of the CGI-heavy sequences blur the tension, but the film never forgets to entertain.
M3GAN 2.0 doesn’t top the original, but it doesn’t try to. It evolves into something else: a snarky, stylish robot throwdown with a wicked sense of fun. Mitten’s Verdict: A wild, witty upgrade that knows how to play. Rated: 6 out of 10.
